Break-cation in Abra (Holy Week Break)

Holy Week for Catholics is usually the season for retreats/recollection, remembering Jesus' sufferings and celebrating HIS resurrection. Times have changed and most Pinoys take this opportunity for family bonding and vacation. However, it is possible to take a break and at the same time participate in holy week church activities.

Thus, it's always been a tradition to visit Abra during this long holy week break. Abra is a province in the Northern Philippines; a part of the Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR). People usually have a negative impression about this place but the province have progressed to a blossoming tourist spot in the North.

It takes approximately 10 to 12 hours if you are travelling from Manila to Abra. The long travel time can be quite tiring hence, it is recommended that you leave at night, sleep while in transit and arrive at your destination early in the morning.

In our case, we left Manila on Wednesday (Holy Wednesday) at around 4pm; stopped over for bathroom breaks and dinner; then arrived in La Paz, Abra at 2am.

The rest of the photos were some of the activities we did during the Holy Week "break-cation". I will just let the pictures do the talking. :)
